NATCHEZ &045; Tips from a Crime Stoppers call led Natchez Police to arrest Leroy Wimberly Saturday afternoon on burglary charges.
Wimberly, 37, 19 Prentiss St., was wanted in connection with a Jan. 10 church burglary in the Woodlawn area, Chief Mike Mullins said.
He was apprehended around 3 p.m. at the intersection of George F. West and Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
Wimberly had stolen property in his possession at the time of the arrest and is a suspect of another burglary at the end of last week.
He was arrested on one charge of burglary, but Mullins said he will probably be facing at least one more. Investigations are underway to possibly connect Wimberly to several other burglaries.
Prior to the warrant for his arrest last week Wimberly had been arrested and released on bond by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office on burglary charges.
Prior to that arrest he was recently released from the state penitentiary where he was serving time for burglary charges.
Wimberly is being held without bond until arraignment.
