NATCHEZ &045;&045; An incident that had Morgantown Elementary School officials concerned Thursday concluded when a man wanted in Louisiana and South Carolina was arrested by the Adams County Sheriffs Office.

Jason Lee Short, 29, 167 Burl Roberts Road, led deputies on a chase from a residence on Fife Street to Morgantown Elementary before he was stopped by officers and the Natchez Police Department’s canine unit.

Short was arrested for an outstanding warrant for unauthorized use of a moveable in Louisiana and fugitive from justice in South Carolina.

deputies became aware of Short Wednesday when his name was entered into a crime database in reference to the Louisiana warrant. The database showed that South Carolina authorities were looking for Short for assault charges.

No bond has been set for Short.

Though Short led officers near the school, no children were harmed.
