Cathedral second, NHS sixth at Coca-Cola Invite

NATCHEZ &045; Cathedral High and Natchez High’s golf teams did quite well at the 2005 Natchez High School/Cathedral High School Coca-Cola Invitational Golf Tournament at the Duncan Park Golf Course Thursday.
In addition to Cathedral and Natchez High, seven other school’s golf teams participated in this tournament &045; Loyd Star, Brookhaven, McComb, Magee, Mendenhall, Warren Central and Wesson.
Led by Jordan Farmer’s round of 73 and Matthew Hall’s round of 78, Cathedral finished in second place with a team score of 317. Jake Kaiser shot an 80, Aaron Murray fired and 86 and Mary Kate Byrne shot an 87.
Natchez High, led by a solid round of 74 by Akeem West, finished in sixth place at 349. Ulric Minor had and 82, Jeremy Ellis shot a 94, Taylor Hinson a 99 and Devin West a 116.
Brookhaven High won the tournament with a team score of 311. Blake Windham’s round of 3-under-par 68 earned him medalist honors and helped Loyd Star finish third at 328. Mendenhall’s Matt Williamson shot a 2-under 69 for second low medallist honors.
