NATCHEZ &045;&045; Three Jefferson County residents pled guilty to kidnapping and burglary Friday in connection with an October suicide involving crimes in both Adams and Jefferson counties.
Michelle Deon Spurlock, Jakela Travonne Gibson and Bryne Keith Nix appeared in an Adams County courtroom Friday to make their pleas. All three will be sentenced on Tuesday.
The trio was arrested on Oct. 28 and charged with two counts of kidnapping and one count grand larceny after allegedly breaking into an Adams County house early in the morning and wrapping a woman in duct tape and forcing her and her two-month-old child into a car.
The group allegedly drove the car to the Fayette home of Jamer Harrid, 44, where they left the victim and child with Harrid, the victim’s stepfather.
She was allegedly sexually assaulted before being released.
When Jefferson County Sheriff’s officers arrived at Harrid’s house and confronted him he shot himself and died at the scene.
Spurlock, Gibson and Nix all claimed after the incident that Harrid paid them to kidnap the victim.
Spurlock, 22, and Nix, 23, are from Fayette. Gibson, 18, is from Lorman.
