NATCHEZ &045; Parents lined up in the parking lot before 7 a.m. Wednesday to get all their new school year questions answered, and the biggest worry on everybody’s mind was buses.

The reorganization of the Natchez-Adams School District means some buses will come earlier, some later and a few schools will have different start times.

But overall, Durham Bus Services’ Ron Idom said most parents seemed to feel comfortable with the changes.

By noon around 100 parents had visited the Steckler building for the one-stop registration day. In addition to the bus services table, parents could register their students for free lunch, get parent center materials and get information from each school.

Representatives from Morgantown Elementary said they had seen about 70 parents by lunch.

Muriel McCoy, an executive secretary at the school, said most parents weren’t worried about the changes, but did want more information.

Lisa Skates, clerical staff from West Primary, said she’d received a lot of questions about the buses.

&uot;They can get everything answered here today,&uot; she said. &uot;They are adjusting pretty well, to be such a big change.&uot;

Parent Center coordinator Marilyn Turner said she’d gotten a good response from most parents. &uot;They ask us, what took you so long,&uot; she said. &uot;They are excited.&uot;

The reorganization will align the grades, two per school, starting at West and going up to Morgantown. In the past there were five grades at McLaurin Elementary and Morgantown, and students attended one or the other based on geographic location.
