Vidalia center offers supplies to evacuees

VIDALIA, La. &045; Evacuees can still get any supplies they need at several locations in Concordia Parish.
The Vidalia Recreation Center will have supplies &045; clothing, bedding, shoes toys and personal items &045; for evacuees from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
Evacuees are asked to show a photo identificaion card from one of the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina.
The Recreation Center is located on Locust Street in Vidalia. Supplies were donated by local residents and people from across the country, including a group from Templeton, Mass., to the We Care Thrift Shop in Ferriday.
The old seventh-grade school on Florida Avenue in Ferriday will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays for evacuees to get food and clothing. In Clayton, La., evacuees can pick up clothing from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at St. Mark’s Baptist Church.
