Where can you find libraries and Internet access?

Libraries

Public libraries in both Natchez and Concordia Parish are offering Internet access to people who have been displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

Concordia Parish libraries had Internet access all last week, while the George W. Armstrong Library in Natchez got limited Internet service by the end of the week because of power outages.

Evacuees at the parish libraries have been allowed to make copies for 10 cents apiece – half the normal rate.

Library officials also said Thursday afternoon that the Ferriday branch will open at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, and all branches but Clayton will open from 8 a.m. to noon on Monday.

Internet

Several wireless “hotspots” are available throughout Natchez, if you have a laptop with that kind of access. They include:

Main Street Marketplace on Main Street in downtown Natchez

Natchez Convention Center, downtown Natchez

King’s Tavern, on Jefferson Street in downtown Natchez
