Tensas Academy should be one of the top four teams in Class A for the third straight season, but there&8217;s a sense of urgency this time. Seniors Tabitha Howard, Megan Bauerle, Aubrey McEacharn, Whitney Alford and Caity Rogers don&8217;t want to come up short this season. &8220;Two years in a row we&8217;ve been there,&8221; Tensas head coach Chuck Bauerle said. &8220;We&8217;d like to finish it off this year. I&8217;ve got the toughest schedule I may have ever had this year. I hope to have five players average 11 points &8212; make it 12.&8221;….
Trinity Episcopal may have more of a balanced scoring attack this season after Eliza Jones and Molly Butts emerged as shooters late last season. It&8217;ll take the pressure off Mallory Archer, who can score from anywhere on the floor and found a way to come through in the clutch. &8220;The chemistry with this team is really good,&8221; Trinity head coach Melanie Hall said. &8220;Everybody is real excited. Of course, time will tell. It&8217;s kind of like that cake mix in the box &8212; all the ingredients are there, but you&8217;ve got to put all of them together before it&8217;ll come out to be a great cake.&8221; Four of the team&8217;s five seniors have been with the program since they were freshmen, and the Lady Saints have added post player Melissa Conlin, a 6-2 Australian exchange student….
Huntington may go from being average in the post to being solid this season with the addition of sophomore Donna Tarver, junior Grubby Harrell and Amberlee Collard. Harrell, a standout catcher in softball, is a physical presence inside, while Tarver has the skills to play under the basket. &8220;I see her improving every day in basketball,&8221; HHS head coach Penny Moak said. &8220;I have more post players than I do anything, and that&8217;s kind of unusual.&8221;&8230;.
WCCA lost its steady inside presence of Erin Ashley&8230;.Centreville Academy also lost plenty in a senior class that included Kelli Simpson, Ash Brashier and Kendall Madsen.
