BUDAPEST, Hungary – A tourist bus collided with a truck in southern Hungary early Thursday, police said. The truck driver and six bus passengers were killed, and 16 others were injured.

The bus was in a head-on collision with a German-registered car transporter, then crashed through a fence, said Marta Toronykoy, a police spokeswoman for the southern county of Csongrad.

Toronykoy said the bus was Czech and was carrying 32 Romanians and two Bulgarian drivers. A Hungarian television reporter at the scene said the passengers were Romanian guest workers.
