RAYVILLE, La. &8212; The Adams Christian Lady Rebels took their 16-4 record and No. 3 ranking in Class AA into Riverfield&8217;s gym for a match-up with the Lady Raiders Tuesday night.

And to make things even more interesting, first place was on the line in District 3-AA as both teams had a 3-0 mark. However, only one team would leave still undefeated in district play.

Unfortunately, it would not be the Lady Rebels&8217; night as they turned the ball over more than 20 times while Riverfield&8217;s Kelsey Cheek was nearly perfect and finished with 17 points as the Lady Raiders took a 53-48 win.

&8220;We were truly awful,&8221; Lady Rebels head coach John Gray said. &8220;Awful on the defensive end. Awful on the offensive end. We had too many turnovers.&8221;

Led by a swarming defense that would not let ACCS (16-5) get on track offensively, Riverfield took command of the game in the first quarter. By the time the quarter was over, the Lady Raiders enjoyed a 16-9 lead.

Ferriday 62, Natchez High 47

FERRIDAY &8212; The Lady Trojans didn&8217;t look down at the other bench. If so, they would have seen it without Ke&8217;Airra Jones, Candace Frye and Alia Franks and could have eased up their game a little bit.

But they couldn&8217;t have. The Lady Bulldogs still gave them a tough game thanks to steady shooting from the 3-point line, but Ferriday used a 10-0 run at the end of the third quarter to pull away and close out the win.

Natchez High had only nine players suited up, and Bianca Robinson went down in the first half with an ankle injury.

&8220;This was a big boost of confidence for our team,&8221; FHS head coach Lisa Abron said. &8220;We&8217;re getting ready for district, and we needed a win like this against a good program.&8221;

St. Aloysius 52, Cathedral 32

VICKSBURG &8212; Annie Beaugh 21 of her game-high 28 points in the second half as the Lady Flashes (16-1, 4-0) shook off a sluggish start to overwhelm Cathedral (2-13, 1-3).

Block 71, LaSalle 62

OLLA, La. &8212; The Lady Bears&8217; strong third quarter set the stage for their first district win, but it didn&8217;t go down easy. The run put the lead at 54-34 heading into the fourth, but LaSalle made a game of it by scoring 28 points.

Wilkinson County 48, Amite County 25

LIBERTY &8212; The Lady Wildcats (12-7) led 15-0 at the end of the first and played well from there on out to claim the non-region win.

Franklin County 60, North Pike 40

SUMMIT &8212; Despite the efforts of Phenecia Taylor and Nakoshia Williams, the Jaguars had no answer for the Franklin County&8217;s Victoria Hunt, who scored a game-high 27 points to help lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 7-3A win.

Huntington 39, River Oaks 31

FERRIDAY &8212; Donna Tarver, Leslie Wagoner and Marie Miller scored eight points each to lead the Lady Hounds.

Tensas 56, Franklin Academy 26

ST. JOSEPH, La. &8212; The Lady Chiefs put the game out of reach in the first quarter by scoring 26 points while holding the Lady Cougars to just five points as they remained undefeated in District 7-A.

Ouachita Christian 48, Vidalia 34

VIDALIA &8212; Shakinley Mitchell led Vidalia (0-16) with 13 points.
