VIDALIA-Services for Emanuel

Thomas, 56, of Los Angeles,

Calif., formerly of Vidalia, who

died Tuesday, March 21, 2006,

at the University of Nevada

Hospital in Las Vegas, will be at

11 a.m. today at Young’s Chapel

Baptist Church in Vidalia with the

Bishop Willie Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Vidalia

Cemetery under the direction of

Concordia Funeral Home.

Mr. Thomas was born April 2,

1949, in Vidalia, the son of Willie

and Virginia Montgomery

Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his

parents.

He is survived by six sons,

Emanuel Thomas Jr. of Los

Angeles, Prentiss Hawkins of

Ferriday, Omari Thomas of

Monroe, La., Rouldra Thomas of

Ireland, Ramardo Thomas and

Emanuel Thomas III of Natchez;

four daughters, Stacy Williams of

Minn., Shondra Hawkins,

Charmaine Hawkins and

Sherelle Hawkins all of Natchez;

one brother, Willie Thomas Sr. of

Vidalia; four sisters, Idella Moore

of Los Angeles, Margie Thomas,

Elnora Davis and husband Jesse

all of Vidalia and Sherrie Hueing

and husband David of Ferriday;

one uncle, Willie Montgomery of

Ferriday; numerous nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Marie Frazier, 80, of Natchez,

who died Wednesday, March 29,

2006, at her residence, were

held Friday, March 31, 2006, at

Laird Funeral Home Union

Street Chapel with the Rev.

Mark Henderson and the Rev.

Steve Pearson officiating.

Ms. Frazier was born July 20,

1925, in Natchez, the daughter

of George Orcutt and Lizzie

Smith Orcutt. She was a

member of Community Chapel

Church of God. She was a

retired Agent for American

General Life Insurance

Company.

She was preceded in death by

her parents; a son, Randy

Joseph; two sisters, Myrtle

Whitehead and Queenie Loesch.

She is survived by her grandson,

George Randall Joseph Jr.; two

sisters, Josephine Beard and

Georgie Henderson; a number of

nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jack

Whitehead, Bobby Beard, Dale

Henderson, John Gamberi,

Donald Shupe and Eddie Orcutt.

Lee Sanders, 18, who died

Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at

his home, will be at 2 p.m. today

at Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel

in Carthage.

Burial will follow in Fuston

Cemetery in Walnut Grove.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until

time of service today at the

funeral home.

John was a member of Houston

Road Baptist Church in Laurel.

He is survived by his parents,

Larry and Dianne Sanders of

Natchez; a brother, Chris

Sanders of Carthage and his

grandmother, Lena Pearl Griffin

of Carthage.

Henry, 76, of Natchez, who died

Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at

Natchez Regional Medical

Center, were at 3:30 p.m.

Thursday, March 30, 2006 at

Laird Funeral Home Union

Walker officiating.

Mrs. Henry was born July 12,

1929, in Thomastown, the

daughter of Houston and Ida Lee

Beard Newell. She was a

member of Parkway Baptist

Church where she formerly

taught Sunday school. The

family expresses a special thank

you to Dr. Daly, the emergency

room staff and ICU staff at

Natchez Regional Medical

Center.

She was preceded in death by

her parents; two sisters and four

brothers.

She is survived by her husband,

Glenn Henry of Natchez; three

daughters, Pam Steele and

husband Ken of Natchez,

Veronica Henry of Shreveport,

La. and Angelia Henry of

Natchez; two grandchildren,

Katie Steele and Devin

Brandenburg; a sister, Jessie

Cole and husband Vernon of

West Point and a brother, James

Newell of Millport, Al.

NATCHEZ-Graveside services

for Christine Cordes Daves, will

be at 2 p.m. Monday at

Greenlawn Memorial Park under

the direction of Young’s Funeral

Home with Ray Owens

officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.

Sunday at the funeral home.

Christine was born Nov. 1, 1927,

in Ferriday, the daughter of

Christian Woods Cordes and

Lillian Wilkinson Cordes. She

was a lifelong resident of

Ferriday and Waterproof and

truly lived a life with meaning.

After graduating from Ferriday

High School, she attended

Draughton Business College and

later worked for the state of

Louisiana as a foster care case

worker in Tensas and Madison

Parishes. She touched countless

lives and always wanted to help

others, yet she would never let

anyone worry about her. She

was a member of the First

Methodist Church in Waterproof

and a past Worthy Matron of the

Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by

her husband, Howard E. Daves;

a son, Howard Cordes Daves;

two sisters, Addie Valentine

Harriss and Lucille Cordes

Simms; two brothers, John

Cordes and Jack Hunt Valentine

and her parents.

Left to cherish her memory are

her daughter, Pam Corbino and

husband Gerard of Safety

Harbor, Fla.; three sons, Doug

Mills and wife Linda of Ferriday,

Chris Mills and wife Ann of

Waterproof, La. and Tony Daves

and wife Katy of Haughton, La.;

nine grandchildren.
