Deputy charged after accident

VIDALIA &8212; Louisiana State Police arrested a Concordia Parish Sheriff&8217;s Office employee after a Friday night accident near Wildsville.
Michael Harbor, 42, 136 Collins Road, Ferriday, was charged with hit and run and careless operation after a collision with a semitrailer on U.S. 84.
The wreck occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. Complete details of the event were not available, but LSP Trooper Jay Sandifer, who worked the scene, reportedly found a vehicle registered to Harbor some 500 feet off the road in a field.
Harbor had allegedly fled the scene.
The driver of the semi, Thomas Furmish, of Whitney, Texas, did not require medical attention.
Attempts to reach him were unsuccessful.
Harbor works transporting inmates for the sheriff&8217;s office.
In a request for comment, CPSO spokeswoman Kathy Stevens said in an e-mail that Harbor was off-duty and in his own vehicle and LSP was handling the matter.
There was no word on whether he had been suspended or not.
