FAYETTE &8212; A Jefferson County man is dead and his brother is in jail after a Sunday afternoon shooting.
Arthur Tenner, 54, 1168 Tenner Road, is in jail on charges of murder, but Sheriff Peter Walker said the case is still under investigation.
&8220;I&8217;m trying to make a true determination of what really happened,&8221; Walker said. &8220;The shooter has cooperated but not to the point that I&8217;m comfortable.&8221;
Tenner admitted to shooting his brother Jackie L. Tenner, 53, 1216 Tenner Road near his home Walker said.
&8220;The information that we received was that there was someone else around,&8221; Walker said. &8220;He&8217;s not given me the information I need to know who else was present.&8221;
Jackie Tenner was pronounced dead at the scene, Walker said. Sheriff&8217;s investigators believe he was shot with a 9 mm weapon, but it has not been recovered.
&8220;He&8217;s denied knowing where the weapon is,&8221; Walker said.
Tenner Road is near the Adams County line.
Arthur Tenner allegedly visited the home of Jackie&8217;s wife and told her he&8217;d shot him, Walker said.
A 911 call came in from Jackie&8217;s daughter first around 3 p.m., then from his wife.
Arthur Tenner was still on the scene when authorities arrived.
&8220;Arthur says there was an argument,&8221; Walker said. &8220;But I don&8217;t have all the facts. I have reason to believe there is a cover up.&8221;
Tenner was denied bond.
Services for Jackie Tenner will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Jefferson County High School auditorium.
