VIDALIA &8212; The second addition of the Gospel Music Fest will be held Saturday evening at Cornerstone Church in Vidalia.
But don&8217;t be fooled by the venue, organizer Paul Reed said.
&8220;It&8217;s open to all faiths, races, anybody of faith, or no faith,&8221; he said. &8220;It&8217;s for people who enjoy gospel music.&8221;
The inaugural fest was held at the Concordia Parish Community Center, but Reed said Saturday nights at the facility was booked up through September so they had to change venues rather than changing days.
&8220;People might have difficulty making Friday night because of work and we don&8217;t want to interfere with anybody&8217;s Sunday schedule,&8221; he said.
The free show begins at 6 p.m. and will break up around 8, Reed said.
&8220;Most of us are over 20 and like to get home a little earlier.&8221;
Saturday&8217;s theme is Southern Gospel, with live music from Still Water and the Oak Grove Quartet.
Reed said different styles of gospel music would be featured at the monthly fests, which will be held on the first Saturday of each month.
