NATCHEZ &8212; The fourth annual golf tournament benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of the Miss-Lou will pack a little more punch this time.

You can thank four celebrities for that. On hand today for the annual fundraising tournament are Super Bowl MVP quarterback Doug Williams, former Baltimore Colt Willie Richardson, former Houston Oiler Jimmie Giles and former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Parnell Dickinson.

The tournament is sponsored by Phillip West, Tommy O&8217;Beirne, Everett Sanders, Jose Oakley and Thomas Campbell and will be at Beau Pr/. Registration and lunch will begin at 11 a.m., and shotgun start is set for 1 p.m.

Organizers are looking for a bigger turnout this year thanks to the celebrities.

&8220;We believe so,&8221; Sanders said. &8220;I told Mr. O&8217;Beirne, and he&8217;s very optimistic about the extent of the participation. We&8217;re hoping this is an opportunity for the golfing public to have fun and make a contribution to the Boys and Girls Club.&8221;

Williams, named MVP of Super Bowl XXII in 1987, played nine seasons in the NFL and spent time in the old USFL before becoming head coach at Grambling. He is now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization.

Giles, drafted in the third round by the Oilers in 1977 out of Alcorn, played 15 seasons in the NFL at tight end with Houston, Tampa Bay, Detroit and Philadelphia. Dickinson, drafted in 1976 out of Mississippi Valley, played one season in Tampa Bay.

Richardson played nine seasons in the NFL as wide receiver with Baltimore and Miami after being drafted by the Colts in 1963 out of Jackson State.

&8220;This is the fourth one and the first one we&8217;re holding it as a celebrity tournament,&8221; West said. &8220;Over the past three years, we&8217;ve been able to raise in excess of $4,000. Normally we have this tournament during August, but we&8217;ve changed it to June for the celebrities.&8221;

Sponsorship opportunities range from $2,000 (gold sponsor) to individual sponsor of $50.
