Child killed in highway accident

woodville &8212; A 6-year-old was killed in Wilkinson County Thursday when he rode his bicycle into the path of a pickup truck, Sgt. Rusty Boyd, a spokesman for the Mississippi Highway Patrol, said Friday.
Jamie Alexander of Woodville was visiting a cousin when at 4:30 p.m. he rode his bicycle into the path of a 1996 Ford F150 driven by Gloria McGhee, 65, from Crosby. McGhee was driving south on Mississippi 563 at the Buffalo Road intersection when Alexander&8217;s bicycle came out from a private drive into the vehicle&8217;s path.
Alexander was transported by ambulance to Field Memorial Community Hospital in Centreville. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
No charge or litigation has been filed.
The child&8217;s father, Reginald Alexander, was at the scene.
