NATCHEZ &8212; After removing itself from the dispatch list, ambulance service Emergystat is back on.
Civil Defense Director George Souderes said Monday that the Adams County 911 Board decided the ambulance service should undergo an inspection before being put back into service.
The Mississippi Department of Health&8217;s Emergency Medical Services division inspected and passed Emergystat June 14, Souderes said.
&8220;For us to put them back in rotation, we wanted someone to make sure they had the right personnel and equipment,&8221; Souderes said.
The emergency dispatch is housed at the Natchez Police Department. They keep a list of the three ambulance services that serve Adams County and rotate the service they send to calls.
This is the third time this year Emergystat has removed itself from the rotation list.
&8220;Any ambulance can take themselves off the list,&8221; Souderes said.
There is no county ordinance regulating ambulances, Souderes said, so the Mississippi Department of Health completes inspections of ambulance services twice a year. Emergystat&8217;s recent inspection was in addition to the regular inspections, Souderes said.
