Franklin deputy arrested

NATCHEZ &8212; Franklin County Sheriff&8217;s Deputy Sedrick Middleton was arrested Thursday afternoon on charges of three counts of possession of stolen property and was released on $30,000 bond Thursday night, Franklin County Sheriff James Newman said Friday.

&8220;Within the last week, information was developed by the Franklin County Sheriff&8217;s Office,&8221; Newman said. &8220;That information led to an arrest warrant being issued.&8221;

Newman said the investigation preceding the arrest was a joint effort between the sheriff&8217;s office and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations.

Newman said the case was still under investigation and would not release details about what was stolen or from where.
