Library sponsors ventriloquist, puppeteers

FERRIDAY &8212; Harvey Rabbit and Friends, an energetic puppet show, will be in Concordia Parish today.
Cecil the Orangutan and T-Boy the Alligator, will accompany Harvey and Laura and Tim Allured for a ventriloquism.
The performances will begin at the Ferriday Library at 10:15 a.m. and at 2 p.m. today in the Community Room of Vidalia&8217;s Concordia Bank.
&8220;This is just a darling show and he has so much personality,&8221; Concordia Parish Library Director Amanda Taylor said. &8220;He&8217;s already booked until 2007 and it&8217;s just a show the kids really love.&8221;
The show of puppetry, music, magic and comedy and audience participation has toured elementary schools throughout Louisiana, southeast Texas and Mississippi. They have offered educational school programs since 1986 and have been performing at summer reading programs since 1991.
Laura and Tim of Lafayette, formerly of Lake Charles, have hosted a Lake Charles cable TV show called the Harvey Rabbit Show Cartoon Hour and have produced four videos.
The last video produced was picked as the Parenting Pick in the October 2001 issue of Parenting Magazine.
Both Laura and Tim are graduates of McNeese State University in vocal music education.
The two have been headlining entertainers for Carnival Cruise Lines out of Miami, Florida and the Mississippi Queen of the Delta Queen Steamboat Company.
