VIDALIA &8212; A Sunday armed robbery, carjacking, near the intersection of John Dale Drive and Clinton Street is under investigation, Vidalia Chief of Police Billy Hammers said.

Dominique T. Miles, of Wildsville contacted the Vidalia Police

Department around 12:30 a.m. about the incident.

The suspect in the carjacking stopped approximately 100 yards from where the car was stolen and began &8220;stripping,&8221; or taking things from the car, Hammers said.

Hammers said police pulled up to the incident and the suspect fled.

Hammers would not reveal details of the incident.

Miles said he did not want to comment on the case.
