Pioneer Publishing announces the release of a new book, the first of a series of Mississippi Marriage Records. &8220;Mississippi Marriage Records Through 1900, As (Males)&8221; was compiled by Betty C. Wiltshire.

This work lists more than 6,500 marriages for grooms with the surname starting with A. The earliest marriage is dated 1800 and the last is in December 1900.

The listings give the name of the groom and bride, the date of the marriage, and the county in which the marriage occurred. The grooms are listed in alphabetical order, and a bride index is attached.

An example of the listings reads as: ALEXANDER, Austin &8212; Jane Holland &8212; 7-16-1870 &8212; Lown (Lowndes).

Palatines to America is a national genealogy society for researchers exploring their German-speaking ancestors. The group is sponsoring a national seminar June 23-25 in Richmond, Va.
