BREAKING NEWS: CIRCUIT CLERK ARRESTED ON EMBEZZLEMENT CHARGES

NATCHEZ – Adams County Circuit Clerk M.L. “Binkey” Vines Jr. turned himself in to the Adams County Jail at 1:02 p.m. Thursday.

He was arrested on 13 counts of embezzlement.

A grand jury indictment was filed in the circuit clerk’s office at 9:33 a.m. Thursday.

The State Auditor’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office handled the investigation and arrest.

“It’s unfortunate when one of our public officials is accused of wrongdoing,” Attorney General Jim Hood said. “I hope we can have a quick and speedy resolution of this matter.”
