Maj. Jody Waldrop said Michael P. Smith, 31, 241 Aimee Drive, Ferriday, was arrested last week for allegedly stealing four Bad Boy Buggies and several accessories on Nov. 28, 2005, from Bad Boy Enterprises, located on River Terminal Road.

Waldrop said investigations led to the arrest of Smith and another suspect, Amber Peek, 22, 26 Willow St., Ferriday, on charges of accessory to burglary after the fact, when one of the buggies was recovered near the scene of the crime.

Peek was arrested on March 6 and has been indicted by a grand jury and is waiting trial in circuit court.

Waldrop said Smith was arrested by the Adams County Sheriff&8217;s Office when he was

found in Pinellis County Florida, on an unrelated charge.

Smith&8217;s Florida judge agreed to let Smith go if he would pay a $20,000 bond and turn himself in to the Adams County Sheriff&8217;s Office, Waldrop said.

&8220;The next step is a preliminary hearing in Justice Court on a later date,&8221; Waldrop said.

Waldrop said since the time of the crime, three of the four buggies have been recovered but several of the accessories are still missing.

&8220;More arrests are still pending,&8221; Waldrop said.
