Nine suspected in Ferriday stabbing

Ferriday&8212; Two females were taken to Riverland Medical Center for treatment and released after an alleged stabbing and assault with a baseball bat involving nine suspects Thursday night.
Ferriday Police Chief Richard Madison said he received the call around 8 p.m. from a witness complaining about several women fighting on Kyle Road.
&8220;I dispatched seven units to go to the scene where apparently the two victims instigated a fight when one of the victims slashed a girl&8217;s tire,&8221; Madison said.
Latoya Patterson, 20, 352-A State Park Road, Natchez; Latasha Norman, 26, 15 Village Square Apt. 22, Natchez; Antwine King, 17, 709 Hampton Alley; Erica Jones, 18, 103 Woodmount Drive; Monica Bowman, 20, 200 Kyle Road; Chantay Weatherspoon, 29, P.O. Box 188, Ferriday; Shanetta Leonard, 30, 213 Abraham Road; and Natasha Jefferson, 22, 100 Kyle Road were charged with disturbing the peace by fighting Friday.
Crystal Gordon, 17, 100 Woodmount Drive, was charged with disturbing the peace by fighting and criminal damage to private property.
Madison said he found only seven of the suspects on Kyle Road when he and the other officers arrived on the scene, but later found the two victims at a residence on Second Street.
&8220;One of the victims was stabbed in the right arm and another claimed to have been hit in the head with a baseball bat,&8221; Madison said.
Madison said he could not release the names of the victims because the matter is still being investigated.
