Indians saw perfect retiree spot

The Natchez Indians knew the key to real estate: location, location, location.
An estimated 1,300 years ago or so, the historians tell us, the Natchez Tribe emerged in Southwest Mississippi. For the next 13 (or so) centuries they enjoyed living, learning and loving in this area.
Approximately 325 years ago, the French first came to this area and caught a glimpse of the natural beauty and resources the area offered.
In the last three centuries, the area has been governed by several different entities, but throughout the different regimes, the charm of Natchez and the surrounding areas has remained a constant.
From the high bluffs overlooking the majestic Mississippi River to the rolling forest lands teeming with wildlife, the area is addictive.
That an increasing number of retirees have found the area appealing should come as no surprise.
The Miss-Lou&8217;s amenities come in all shapes and sizes. The area features great restaurants, amazing shopping and down-home, small-town charm.
Unlike some parts of the world, around here, your neighbors will wave and lend a hand if you need it.
Something that all of us occasionally need, but few of us like to think about, is quality health care.
Fortunately, our area has several excellent medical facilities and some amazing physicians and nurses, too.
Those amenities are just a few of the ones that make the place attractive to young people as well as older residents.
We&8217;re thankful for the additions all of the new folks bring to our community each day.
And to think it&8217;s all because of the Natchez Indians&8217; real estate prowess.
