Development was the name of the game in the Miss-Lou last week, as industrial plans entered new phases and projects sure to have an economic effect progressed.
Here&8217;s some of the good news from last week:
-Officials from Rentech &8212; the area&8217;s most exciting prospect &8212; visited Adams County Friday and shared news of the next phase for the local project.
The next 12 months will be used to determine the feasibility of the plan. The company will study costs, technology and resources in the area.
Sometimes progress on projects like this one is hard to chart, but Rentech is sending clear signals that they are interested in Adams County.
-Work on Lakeside Ford&8217;s new building is complete and grand opening plans are under way. The new place, just down the street from the old, is bigger and better, owner William Pugh says, and will give the business room to grow.
-Two new businesses are coming to Vidalia &8212; a children&8217;s dance studio and an electrical wholesale store. Aldermen voted Tuesday to rezone property to allow for the commercial growth.
-And a seemingly never-ending construction project in Natchez has a completion date. The federal courthouse should be finished in February, spokesmen said this week. Once opened this facility will bring numerous court employees to town for years to come.
