Alden E. Wiley

Aug. 19, 1927 – July 9, 2006

FERRIDAY – Services for Alden E. “Bo” Wiley, 78, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, July 9, 2006 at his residence, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday with Bro. Lloyd Trisler and the Rev. Kim Frith officiating.

Burial will be at Rogers Cemetery in Clayton under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Wiley was born Aug. 19, 1927 in Manifest, La., the son of Cyrus and Beatrice Wiley. He was a World War II, U. S. Navy Veteran. Mr. Wiley was an avid hunter and fisherman. He retired as manager of Ferrellgas after 40 years of service and was a member of Mayna Church of God.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Wiley; his parents; brothers, Cyrus “Son” Wiley, Leland Wiley, Jerry Thomas Wiley, and Gary Wiley; and sister, Aline Bender.

Survivors include his wife, Novis Beason Wiley; son, Bill Wiley and wife, Linda of West Monroe; daughter, Connie Patterson and husband, Paul, of Ferriday; daughter-in-law, Dot Wiley of Clayton; grandchildren, Christal Cupit and Amber Ballard, all of Vidalia; great-grandchildren, Caitlin Ballard, Lauren Edwards and Alden Cupit, all of Vidalia; brother, Roger Wiley and wife, Norma, of Vidalia; and sister, Barbara Nell Gillespie of Wisner.

Pallbearers will be Leon Wiley, Jimmy Wiley, Tim Frith, Sammy Corban, Ben Crochet, and Eddie Stroud.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alden Cupit, Robbie McMillin, Bugger Trisler, Roger Rachel, Cliff McGlothin, Harry Loomis, and David Wiley.

Rever Watson

NATCHEZ-Services for Mrs. Rever Watson, 86, of Natchez who died Saturday, July 8, 2006, at her residence are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Webb Funeral System.

Elizabeth P. Barnes

May 10, 1963 – July 8, 2006

NATCHEZ – Services for Elizabeth P. Barnes, 43, of Natchez, who died Saturday, July 8, 2006, in Natchez, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Theresa Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Miss Barnes was born May 10, 1963, in Brookhaven, the daughter of Oleous Orlan and Peggy June Rose Barnes.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Nettles of Natchez; one daughter, Amanda Nettles of Natchez; mother, Peggy June Rose of Arkansas; four brothers, William Barnes of Natchez, Orlan Barnes of Providence, RI, Alan Barnes of California and Obrien Barnes of Mounds, Okla.; one sister, Twila Carroll of Tennessee; 10 nephews and three nieces.

Pallbearers will be William Barnes, Orlan Barnes, Obrien Barnes, Charlie Barnes, Matt Barnes and Jeffery Davis.

Roy Dewayne Jefferson

July 2, 1975 – July 6, 2006

FROGMORE – Services for Roy Dewayne Jefferson, 31, of Jonesville, who died Thursday, July 6, 2006 in E. Feliciana Parish from injuries sustained in an auto crash, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore with the Rev. Dave Mays officiating.

Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Mr. Jefferson was born July 2, 1975, in Pineville, the son of Roy Townsend and Betty Jefferson Barber.

He was an ironworker.

Survivors include his father, Roy Townsend; mother and stepfather, Betty Jefferson Barber and husband, Herbert; fiancee’, Michelle Mackey; children, DeQuan and Jasmine Jefferson; brothers, Edward and Herbert Jefferson, both of Jonesville and Bryan White of Vidalia; sisters, Gwendolyn Johnson of Jena and Iesha Jefferson of Jonesville; maternal grandmother, Mary Jefferson of Ferriday; nephews, Carnell Simmons of Jena and Trevonne Galmore of Vidalia; niece, Juztice of Johnson; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Willie Mae Robinson

Nov. 17, 1945 – July 5, 2006

FERRIDAY – Graveside Services for Willie Mae Robinson, 60, of Newport News, Va., formerly of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, July 5, 2006 in Newport News, Va., will be 10 a.m. at Ferriday Cemetery with the Rev. Everett Schiele officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Robinson was born Nov. 17, 1945 in Ferriday, the daughter of Will and Laura Collins Scott.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include daughters, Cynthia Ross and Amy Nelson, both of Newport News; sisters, Geneva Leonard and husband, A. C., of Ferriday and Bernice Robinson and husband, Rob, of Baton Rouge; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Leola D. Wells

NATCHEZ-Services for Mrs. Leola D. Wells, 88, of Natchez, who died Monday, July 10, 2006, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday from Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel.

Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Complete arrangements will be announced by Laird Funeral Home.
