VIDALIA &8212; The Miss-Lou is in for a treat as acclaimed pianist Emile Pandolfi performs at the Concordia Bank in Vidalia tonight.
According to a release from Concordia Parish Library Director Amanda Taylor, Pandolfi plays luxurious arrangements with a free-flowing, emotional manner that seems to go to the music&8217;s very soul.
&8220;This is a rare opportunity to host this type of performance and quality in a rural parish,&8221; Taylor said Thursday.
Pandolfi&8217;s influences include Debussy, Chopin and Gershwin, as well as big band and Broadway musical numbers.
Pandolfi, a South Carolina native, said this will be his first trip to Vidalia and said this was his first visit to the rural part of Louisiana.
&8220;I just finished two shows in Louisiana, one in Crowley and the other in Monroe, and I enjoyed them very much,&8221; Pandolfi said. &8220;I am really looking forward to visiting Vidalia as well.&8221;
Pandolfi said his audience consists, most of the time, of men and women in their 40s, but he includes in his repertoire songs from Disney and Broadway to attract a younger audience.
&8220;I believe that if you communicate your music with passion it transcends the age difference,&8221; Pandolfi said.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and last until 8:30 p.m., and is free.
