FERRIDAY &8212; Last Friday&8217;s vehicle accident between Fire Chief Hermon Smith and Ferriday Patrolman Marcus Paul is still under investigation.
At 7:15 p.m., Smith was traveling on north on Virginia Avenue approaching the red light at the intersection of Virginia and E.E. Wallace Boulevard.
Paul was traveling on E.E. Wallace Boulevard approaching the same light when the two men collided.
State Trooper Mark Davis is investigating the accident.
&8220;The exact cause of the accident I can&8217;t give because I have not yet interviewed all the potential witnesses,&8221; Davis said Wednesday.
Both men were responding to a fire call on 10th Street, Davis said.
Both men were driving town-owned vehicles and had minor injuries.
Davis said he still needed to speak with Smith and verify if the stoplight was red.
Smith was not available for comment Wednesday because of medical reasons, Capt. Freddie Green said.
Davis said he would have the investigation wrapped up this evening.
