Companys coming, time to clean up

In 24 hours our home will become host to hundreds of guests. And they&8217;ll be inspecting our stuff with the proverbial white glove from every angle &8212; literally.
Balloon pilots, their families and their passengers will get a bird&8217;s eye view of our fair city. And don&8217;t think you can&8217;t see trash from 1,000-feet up.
Everyone else will be on the ground, riding our highways, looking at our gorgeous houses and sidestepping our trash and overgrown bushes.
But there&8217;s still time to clean like your mother-in-law is coming.
If you see trash in the street, on the sidewalk or in your yard, pick it up. Get out tonight and cut your grass. Trim the hedges, and put out the hot-air balloon wind flag.
The Miss-Lou thrives on tourism. We must put our best foot forward at all times, but especially when streams of strangers come to town.
Public works and city offices have a responsibility to keep our streets clean and public areas trimmed, but if we really want to pass the white-glove test it is going to take all of us.
We have a gorgeous town, let&8217;s polish it a little.
