DeLaSalle currently leads the Lady Rebels in scoring, averaging 15.3 points per game, and rebounding, with nearly seven boards per game. She has also made her presence known on defense by collecting 35 blocked shots thus far this season.

Swinny leads the team in assists with 4.2 per game, and in three point field goal percentages, shooting 33 percent from behind the arch. She is second in scoring with 13.1 points per game, and second in rebounds with 6.2 per game.

Both girls are multi-sport athletes and claim basketball as their favorite sport.

When DeLaSalle is not battling opponents in the paint on the hard wood, the 18-year-old forward/center can be found turning double plays as a shortstop on the softball diamond or defying gravity by competing in the high jump.

If Swinny, 17, is not dishing out assists and kncking down 3-pointers, then she is on the sidelines cheering on the Rebels as a cheerleader or snagging fly balls in the outfield for the Lady Rebel softball team.

Despite playing multiple sports, both girls said they still manage to find time to hang out with friends and get some shopping in as well.

&8220;I also like to ski, but I only get to do that in the summer time,&8221; said Swinny.

Both girls have similar plans for the future as well. While DeLaSalle said she is still undecided about colleges, she said she has a strong interest in veterinary medicine.

&8220;I think I want to be a vet, I love animals,&8221; she said.

Swinny said she is leaning toward attending Mississippi State University or Hinds Community College in Jackson, and is also interested in a career in medicine.

&8220;I want to be a nurse practitioner,&8221; Swinny said. &8220;I have always been interested in the medical field.&8221;
