Marguerite Walls

Services for Marguerite Walls, 84, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Bryant Reed officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Ms. Walls was born March 22, 1922, in Kentwood, La., the daughter of Hugh Henry and Mary Lee Albritton Walls. She moved with the family to Natchez at an early age and attended Natchez public schools. Following graduation, she worked for The Natchez Democrat and was deputy clerk in the chancery clerk’s office. She later attended Asbury College, Wilmore, Ky., and thereafter established herself as a secretary with the Methodist Home-Hospital in New Orleans. After having worked there for many years, she embarked upon a new career as an administrator with the law firm of Kullman-Lang in New Orleans. Upon retirement, Ms. Walls returned to Natchez to make her home. She was a member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church and sang in the its choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clinton Walls and Ray Walls; sisters, Lexie Blythe, Ella Bowlin, Lois Magoun and Frances Drouant.
Survivors include her sisters, Maloy Williams of Austin, Texas and Juanita Hooks of Columbus and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael Bowlin, Ralph Magoun, Alvin Walls, Brian Maier, Bruce Maier, Robert Drouant and Richard Drouant.
Memorials may be made to Jefferson Street United Methodist Church or a charity of choice preferred.
