NATCHEZ &8212; Eddie Walker, meet Eddie Walker.
That&8217;s close to how the conversation went when Eddie Walker, a criminal investigator with the district attorney&8217;s office, met Eddie Walker, from Walla Walla, Washington. One Eddie is male, the other female.
It all started with a Christmas present. Natchez resident Eddie Walker&8217;s wife flipped through a catalogue years ago, looking for Christmas gifts.
What she found was a series of ornaments created by the Washington Eddie Walker.
When he recently found out the other Eddie Walker was the mother of High Cotton owner Karry Hosford, he decided they had to meet.
Hosford said she was shocked when Walker introduced himself a few weeks ago.
&8220;He came into the shop and scared me half to death when he said, &8216;Hi, my name&8217;s Eddie Walker,&8217;&8221; she said.
Hosford&8217;s mother visited Natchez over Christmas, and the two Eddie Walkers met.
Although Eddie is an unusual name for a woman, Walker said her parents named her after a relative.
&8220;I was named after my Aunt Edna, but everybody always called her Aunt Eddie,&8221; she said.
Her ornaments are sold nationwide, she said. That&8217;s how the Natchez Walkers found her.
&8220;I had to have that name trademarked,&8221; she said as the two talked Friday.
&8220;Oh, no,&8221; Eddie Walker joked.
&8220;You mean I&8217;m breaking the law?&8221;
Hosford&8217;s mother was scheduled to fly back to Washington Friday.
