Services for Monica Patilla “Pat” Johansson, 78, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at National Regional Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. George Pookkattu officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Johansson was born June 14, 1928, in Natchez, the daughter of Henry Bernard and Florice Lucille Coley Cooley. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She retired from the Natchez Police Department. She served as secretary for the Tri-Parish Women’s Bowling Association for several years. Mrs. Johansson was an avid sports fan, especially favoring LSU. She was game announcer for several years for Vidalia Dixie Youth Baseball and served as Assistant Coach for Cathedral High School Basketball.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Catherine L. Beach; and brother, Bernard Cooley.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Johansson Sr. of Vidalia; sons, Edward Johansson Jr. of Clarksdale, Johnny Johansson of Vidalia and Larry Johansson and his wife, Mary Beth, of White Hall, Ark.; grandchildren, Terrie Johnson, Michelle Bies, Jimmy Glowatzke, Joey Johansson, Kari Mayo, Kimberly Johansson, Monica Johansson, and Eric Johansson; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry B. Cooley and his wife, Louise, and Leonard Cooley; sister, Judy Bolyer; nine nieces and nephews; and 23 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Eric Johansson, Joey Johansson, Hank Cooley, Bernie Cooley, David Cooley and Chip Bolyer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Louie D. Brown and James C. Cooley.
