Services for Virginia Lucas, 100, of Natchez, who died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006 at Glenburney Nursing Home, will be noon Saturday at Zion Flower Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Alexander officiating.
Burial will be at Pine Hill Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lucas was born Feb. 15, 1906, in Waterproof, the daughter of Hinson and Alice Johnson. She was a member of Zion Flower Baptist Church , the LF&C Society and A&M Poor Fund Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Lucas Sr.; sons, Otis Lucas Jr. and Oliver Lucas; parents; brother, Oliver Dairy; sisters, Catherine Ballard, Lucillie Jackson and Lucinda Jefferson.
Survivors include her sons, Andrew Lucas Sr. of Natchez and Walter Lucas Sr. of Kansas City, Mo.; stepsons, Allen Winston and Tyrone Jefferson, both of Natchez; caregivers and grandsons, Otis Lucas and Leon D. Lucas, both of Natchez; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six godchildren, Martha Cain, Rosie M. Isaac, Alma Myles, Marilyn Whitley, Penella Green and Robert Foster; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
