Services for Carnelia Smith Yates, 79, of Monterey, who died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, in Pineville, will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Grammon officiating.
Burial will follow at Oswalt Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Yates was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Lismore, La., the daughter of Charles Dewey Smith and Myrtle Cross Smith. She was a hair stylist and a member of the Monterey Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William King Lindsay; sister, Verna Givens; and brothers, Houston Smith and Elmer Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Yates of Natchez; daughters, Judy Fisher and her husband, Dean, of Leakey, Texas and Jeanie Nugent and her husband, Bernard, of Lafayette, La.; brothers, William Larry Lindsey and his wife, Pam, and Gary Lynn Lindsay and his wife, Theresa, all of Pineville; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
