Graveside services for Johnnie Bates Stallings, 68, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Natchez National Cemetery with the Rev. Welton Smith officiating, and under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stallings was born Sept. 28, 1938, in Overton, Texas, the son of Jack and Jenny Bates. She was a homemaker and resident of Ferriday for 49 years. She was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Sky Vikings RC Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Hollis Bates.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Jerry Stallings of Ferriday; son, Stephen Stallings of Natchez; daughter, Shelli Roberts of Billings, Mont.; three brothers, Murt Bates of Overton, Texas; Fred Bates of Longview, Texas and Jimmy Bates of Henderson, Texas; six sisters, Mollie Fuller of Longview, Dixie Duncan of Henderson, Charlette Martin of New London, Texas, Patsy Anderson of Magnolia, Texas, Jenny Ballard of Spring, Texas and Debbie Martin of Troupe, Texas; five grandchildren, Jake Quimby, Klein Quimby, Christopher Stallings, Casey Camp and Jennifer Dornblaser; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Dornblaser and Cade Camp.
