Charles Higgs

Services for Charles David Higgs, 56, of Dodson, who died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at the Winn Parish Medical Center, in Winnfield, La., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hurricane Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Dick DeBusk, Scott Tilton and Rayford Higgs officiating.

Burial will follow at Hurricane Creek Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Higgs was the son of Houston Higgs and Irene Boyett Higgs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Hubern Higgs.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Janet Butler Higgs; sons, Charles Houston Higgs and wife, Kaci, of Calvin, La., David Holden Higgs and Elbert Haven Higgs, both of Dodson; sisters, Alpha Brewton and husband, George, and Charlotte Chandler and husband, Terry, all of Dodson and Coynell Gresham and husband, Paul, of Quitman, La.; brother, the Rev. Rayford Higgs and wife, Dorothy, of Winnfield; granddaughter, Kylee Ann Higgs of Calvin, La.; a number of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.

Pallbearers will be James Smiley, Matt Jordan, Sam Watson, Wesley Crawford, Blase Bradford, Jeremy Butler and Jackson Gordon.
