Services for James McDonald, 77, who died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at Jefferson County Nursing Home, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the East Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Assistant Pastor Elijah Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home, Fayette.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. McDonald was born July 2, 1929, the son of Able McDonald and Tennessee Moore McDonald. He was a member of the East Mount Olive Baptist Church and was a member of the gospel-recording group known as the “Five Trumpets.”

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leon McDonald, Charlie McDonald, and Whytine McDonald; sisters, Annie Bell Williams, Jessie Bell Reed and Lizzie McDonald.

Survivors include a brother, Paul Moore of Chicago; a daughter, Brenda Sanders of Vicksburg; former wife, Etta Lee Washington and their children, Harvey McDonald of Memphis, Tenn., Charlean McDonald, James Henry McDonald, Katherine Clark, all of Redlick, Zennie King and husband, Sherman, of Port Gibson; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
