Services for Philip “Monroe” Bindon Jr., 56, of Natchez, who died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. D. W. Howard officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Bindon was born Feb. 13, 1950, in Adams County, the son of Philip Bindon Sr. and Luberta Torrey Bindon. He was a farm laborer. He was a Baptist and a member of Linwood Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Opal Winchester and Alberta B. Fleming; a niece, Tabithat Shepard King; and a stepson, Trennis Ware.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria “Pat” Ware Bindon; a son, Kedric Bindon Sr.; brothers, Frank Bindon and wife, Carolyn, Emmitt Bindon and wife, Audrey, and Walter Bindon, all of Church Hill; sisters, Elcerlia Wilson and husband, Sylvester, Willie Rice and husband, Lorenzo, and Barbara Jean Bindon, all of Natchez; grandchildren, Lekeisha Bindon, Kedric Bindon Jr., and Latoria Bindon; mother-in-law, Rosie Ware; stepchildren, Latoya Ware, Derrick Ware, and Phillip Ware and wife, Lawanda; uncle, James Jones and wife, Elizabeth; aunt, Vonnie Lee Johnson of New York; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be the family.
