Services for James Edward “B.R.” DeLaughter, 60, of Natchez, who died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Revs. Steve Purvis and Mike Harrigill officiating.
Burial will follow at Butler Family Cemetery in Franklin County under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. DeLaughter was born Dec. 22, 1946, in Natchez, the son of Bennie and Hilda Marie Merritt DeLaughter. He was a dedicated employee at Natchez Electric for almost 30 years. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a loving husband, father and pawpaw. He was a loyal friend to many. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and give his all in every situation. He was dearly loved and will be missed every day.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Margaret Berry Hill Butler; and brother-in-law, John Butler.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche DeLaughter of Natchez; daughter, Tracy Henry and her husband, Eddie Ray, of Natchez; grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Mascagni, Hadley Henry and Landon Henry; sister, Marie Tengler and her husband, Tom, of Tucson; brother, Larry DeLaughter of Tucson; father-in-law, Byron Elmo Butler; brothers-in-law, Elmo Butler, Ray Butler and their families; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Elmo Butler, Ray Butler, Joe Ernst, Buddy Merritt, T.C. Martin, Ed Wisner, Chris Butler and Ramey Butler.
Honorary pallbearers are Mark Whitney, Steve Reed, David Gray, Lane Whitehead and Dr. Barry Tillman.
