Services for Michael O’Neal January, 43, of Fayette, who died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, in Galveston, Texas, will be 2 p.m. today at Hollywood Baptist Church with the Rev. E. E. Colenberg officiating.
Burial will follow at Mount Israel Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home, Fayette.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the church.
January, the second child of Anita Cosey January and the late Andrew January Sr., was born Sept. 22, 1963, in Adams County.
January lived a full and vibrant life. Having a heart of gold, he had many friends and made friends wherever he went.
He was employed with H.B. Zachery in Freeport, Texas.
He was united in holy matrimony to Bobbie Thomas in November 2001. Michael and Bobbie shared a beautiful daughter, Keionne.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew; maternal grandparents, Alex Sr. and Minerva Cosey; paternal grandparents, Columbus and Josephine January; one sister; three uncles; and two aunts.
Michael leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife, Bobbie, the love of his life; two daughters, Ashley B. January of Atlanta and Keionne January of Fayette; his loving and devoted mother, Anita of Fayette; a loving mother-in-law, Ella Mae Thomas of Fayette; one godson, Christopher D. Jackson Jr. of Fayette; five sisters, Emma Clemons and husband, Charlie, of Natchez, Mary January of Los Angeles, Calif., Greta Walker and husband, James, DonZella Gibbs and husband, Kendall and Aisha January, all of Fayette; seven brothers, Lee F. January of Los Angeles, Andrew January Jr. and wife, Margaret, of Natchez, Joseph January and wife, Willie Mae, Lee Andrew January, Keith January and wife, Valerie, Kendrick January and wife, Fallon and Derrick January, all of Fayette; eight aunts, Zella Cosey of Fayette, Frances Ballard and husband, Robert “Tom,” of Lorman, Eva Dowdell of Los Angeles, Emma Kelley and Sarah January, both of Port Arthur, Texas, Hester Thomas and husband, Dave, of Orange, Texas, Annie Hargro of Lorman and Ida Oliver and husband, James, of Fayette; one great aunt, Frances Ghilchrist of Vicksburg; a special aunt-in-law, Lula T. Kaho of Fayette; five uncles, Oscar Cosey of Akron, Ohio, David Cosey of Fayette, Alex Cosey Jr. and wife, Bessie, of Port Gibson, Joseph January and Thomas L. January and wife, Ann, all of Port Arthur, Texas; one godsister, Stephanie Wright and husband, Daron, of Harriston; four godbrothers, Herman Cosey and Travaris “T.C.” Clark, both of Fayette, Christopher Peoples of Columbus, Ohio; a special godbrother, Kenyatter Ballard and wife, Myeshia, of Chula Vista, Calif.; three sisters-in-law, Cynthia Mackey, Shirley Thomas and Mary Shaw and husband, Shelvy, of Fayette; five brothers-in-law, Charles Trevillion and wife, Murrell, of LaPlace, La., Leroy Trevillion, Marion Thomas and Joseph Thomas, both of Fayette and Jerry Thomas and wife, Joyce, of Atlanta; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special and devoted friends, Pernell Rowan and wife, Christina, Stanley Trevillion and wife, Joy, Ellis King and David Gales and wife Shelia; a devoted aunt and uncle, Robert “Tom” Ballard and wife, Frances, of Lorman; a special niece, Fallon Cosey; special nephews, Joseph January Ballard and Kendall “my little John Cena” Gibbs Jr. of Fayette.
Pallbearers will be the Class of 1981.
