Donald Ivan Mitchell died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday.

Mr. Mitchell was born Oct. 3, 1920, in Mississippi, the son of David Benton Mitchell Sr. and Mary Erwin Mitchell. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his brother, David Mitchell of Clayton; sister, Helen Williams of Clayton; numerous nieces and nephews.
