SUV should not have been main part of story

We really need legislation to get these self-actuated SUVs off the street. I am sure if it were not an SUV the man would not have been hit in Vidalia over the weekend, and if there had just been a responsible human behind the wheel the SUV could have been prevented from intentionally running down this innocent man.
Since apparently, by the way the article was written, these vehicles (and we know how dastardly SUVs are) are running around killing people with no drivers at the wheel, maybe automobiles should be banned from Carter Street!
I am appalled that the model of the vehicle was the dominant part of the story about a man being killed. Would he have not been killed if he’d been hit by a Toyota Prius? If he had been killed by a Prius would that have been the prevailing part of the story?
