Jacquelin Butts

Graveside services for Jacquelin McCarthy Butts, 67, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, at her residence, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Natchez City Cemetery with Father David O’Connor officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Jacquelin was a graduate of Ursiline Academy and Loyola University in New Orleans, the daughter of Leichester and Veronica McCarthy. She was very proud of her tenure as a second grade teacher, member of the St. Mary Minor Basilica and the Pilgrimage Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Patricia.

Survivors include her husband, Lucius M. Butts Jr.; a son, Gerald DeLaune III; daughters, Babette DeLaune, Yvette Stancil, Juliette Schwaller; two grandchildren; special friend, Mittie Schiele; and loving caregivers, Thelma Credit, Lucy Washington, Willie Mae Mitchell and Dorothy Knight.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Byrne, Dick Power, Chick Graning, James Cole, Dr. Jim Coy and Bill McGehee.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Basilica or Natchez Children’s Home.
