Services for Velma Louise Richardson, 86, of Natchez, who died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Todd Welch officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Richardson was born Aug. 20, 1920, in Harvest, Ala., the daughter of Andrew Jackson Putman and Millie Mae Downs Putman. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Natchez. She was a homemaker, a great cook, a beloved wife and mother, and an adored nannie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Floyd Leon Richardson; grandson, Trampasa Dwayne Richardson; son-in-law, Harry S. Wells; two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ellen Wells of Atlanta, Texas, Doris Jean Richardson of Natchez and Nancy Louise Corban and husband, C.D., of Queen City, Texas; three sons, Jackie Ray Richardson of Natchez, F.D. “Boone” Richardson and wife, Martha, of Reedsport, Ore. and James Dale Richardson and wife, Mary, of Dothan, Ala.; 14 grandchildren, Jeff Wells, Ellena Endsley, Joel Richardson, CHristopher Richardson, Stuart Richardson, Paul Richardson, Cory Richardson, Penny Craft, Bambi Greer, Rebecca Ensminger, Ras Godbold, Tammy Tillie, Jennifer Wagner and Kim Browning; 39 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
