Services for Allena York Green, 80, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m.

Remains will lie in state one hour before service time Tuesday.

Mrs. Green was born Aug. 6, 1926, in Adams County, the daughter of Bennie York Sr. and Louella York Cooper. She was a member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church, having served as church secretary for many years. She was also a dedicated Sunday school teacher and served as president of the mothers’ board.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Willie Albert Green and Carolyn Lambert; three siblings, Thomas York, Georgia M. Washington and Jessie L. Reed.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, the Rev. Willie Green; five daughters, Flora Terrell and husband, William, Ruby Lucas, Juanita Jones and husband, Albert, Allena Johnson and Alma Murray; three sons, Eddie Green and wife, Panella, Raymond Green and wife, Peggie and Richard Green and wife, Lynn; two brothers, the Rev. Bennie York and wife, Velma, of Fort Wayne, Ind. And the Rev. Dave York of Natchez; sons-in-law, Freddrick Murray of Natchez and USA retired PSGT John Lambert of Killeen, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be the grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Pilgrim Baptist Church.
