Join us for a Legislative update Monday
Published 4:06 pm Friday, March 2, 2007
As the regular session of the Mississippi State Legislature winds down, we welcome our area legislators to the 2007 Annual Chamber of Commerce Legislative Breakfast. Join us as we thank them for their support of Natchez, Adams County and Southwest Mississippi. A cordial invitation is extended to all area residents, so please mark your calendars and make plans to attend.
The breakfast will be held on Monday at the Isle of Capri Hotel, 645 South Canal St. in Natchez. Breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m., and the speakers will follow at 8. The program will conclude no later than 9 a.m., and the cost is $8 per person.
Legislators who will be speaking are Sen. Kelvin Butler, Sen. Bob Dearing, Sen. Robert Johnson, Rep. Angela Cockerham, Rep. Chuck Middleton and Rep. Sam Mims. We are indeed fortunate to have a group of legislators who represent us so diligently and appreciate their commitment to the citizens of Southwest Mississippi.
Each legislator will offer a personal perspective of recent legislative happenings. After all legislators have spoken, there will be an opportunity for questions from the audience.
My sincere thanks to the chamber legislative committee chairman, Stephanie Hutchins, and co-chairman, Janet Sullivan, for organizing this event.
The Chamber of Commerce thanks our community for its support and looks forward to seeing you at breakfast on Monday. Rise and shine, Natchez — the coffee’s on!
Pat Biglane is the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Board.
