Services for Oliver “Billie” Hardie, 80, of Jonesville, who died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wallace Ridge Baptist Church with the Revs. Lester Johnson, Marvin Dunn and Toney Ganey officiating.

Burial will follow at McFarland Gurie Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home on Jonesville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Hardie was born April 26, 1926, in Jonesville, the son of Lillie and Steve Hardie. When Mr. Hardie was young, his father passed away and his mother married Ed Harris, who raised “Billie” as his own.

He was a lifelong resident of Jonesville, a gauger in the oil field, a farmer and a cattleman. He was a member of Wallace Ridge Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father; brothers, Tommy, Norman and Claude Hardie; and sister, Ida Masters.

Survivors include his wife, Wyles Hardie of Jonesville; daughters, Sherrie Thompson and husband, Steve, and Pam McGraw and husband, Yates, all of Lake Concordia; sons, John and Bo Hardie, both of Jonesville; grandchildren, Tiffany Foster of Bossier City, La., Morgan Ryan of Jonesville and Storee Ryan of Monroe; sisters, Lula Dunn of Pineville, La., Stevie Butts of Jonesville and Eula Mae Elliot of Jena, La.; and brother, Bobby Harris of Jonesville.

Pallbearers will be Cloyd, Howard, Justin and Weegie Hardie, Jackie and Morgan Ryan, Rod Daggett and Kenneth Davis.

Honorary pallbearers are Joe Pugh, Glenn Shivers, Pete Ford and Billy Coy.
