The trial of a Larry F. Jackson Jr., accused of murder, is scheduled to start at roughly 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Jackson, 101-A Rushing St., was arrested in November and charged with killing Marshall “Mark” Brown in March 2005.
Brown was discovered dead in his RV parked in front of a store on U.S. 61 North in Washington.
Sheriff Ronny Brown said at the time that someone came to the shop looking for Marshall Brown. The shop’s owner entered the camper and found the body, he said.
Marshall Brown could have been dead 12 hours before his body was discovered, officials said at the time.
Brown lived in the RV, which he parked in front of the auto shop where he worked as a mechanic.
Ronny Brown has said in the past that the suspects knew Mark Brown.
Two others were arrested in connection with the murder at the time of Jackson’s arrest.
Bobby Earnest Beard, 27, was arrested on charges of Brown’s murder, and Patsy Ruth Jackson, 52, was charged with accessory after the fact.
At the time of the three arrests, Mark Brown’s stepmother Catherine Hibbs of Vidalia said she was proud of the work the ACSO did.
At least one, possibly two, more murder trials will be held this month.
The trial of Brittany Kelly, 16, charged with murdering her mother in September, is scheduled to be held March 29. Kelly was arrested on a grand jury indictment for the Sept 24 death of her mother, Jacquelyn Thompson, 35.
Natchez resident Kevin D. Book, 2811 Itasca Drive, is charged with shooting two men outside a Natchez nightclub in August.
His trial was originally scheduled to be held this month.
His attorney said recently that the trial has been postponed until results from a psychiatric evaluation come back.
